LOCATION
The Abingdon Guest House is located in downtown Manhattan in the historic Greenwich Village section of New York City. The Guest House is situated just off Abingdon Square at 13 and 21 Eighth Avenue between W. 12th Street and Jane Street and is easily accessible to all three major airports.

ARRIVAL FROM AIRPORTS

TAXI from LAGUARDIA AIRPORT (LGA) - Metered rate. Approximately $25 to $35 + toll fees and tip. Estimated time: about 35-45 minutes, depending on traffic. Tell the driver to take 9th Avenue.

TAXI from NEWARK AIRPORT (EWR) - Approximately $40 to $45 + toll fees and tip. Follow signs to Taxi Stand. Ask the Driver what the charge is to Manhattan (Greenwich Village). Estimated time: about 30-40 minutes, depending on traffic.

TAXI from KENNEDY INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT (JFK) - Flat charge of $45 + toll fees and tip. Follow signs to Taxi Stand. Tell Driver "Flat Rate." Estimated time about 45 minutes, longer during rush hour.

Remember to reconfirm your reservations with the car service on the day of your arrival. Tell your driver to take you to "8th Avenue and W. 12th Street." You may get out of the car there. We are located very near that corner, on the west side of 8th Avenue. If you say the actual street address it may confuse the driver as people here normally tell them the cross streets, not the address.

NOTE: TAXI or PRIVATE CAR SERVICE is by far the easiest, safest, and most convenient way to arrive at the Guest House from the airports. We discourage the use of public transportation for airport arrivals. If you are considering public transportation for arrival from an airport, remember that taxi prices are per car, while all other forms of transportation are priced per person. Also, carrying luggage may be difficult on public transportation and it is possible for people to become lost or be delayed. Public transportation is an especially bad idea late at night when service becomes less frequent. However, as much as we discourage it, for those determined to try public transportation we provide information about it under Public Transportation.
